IBBU Lapai Gets New Vice Chancellor

The Governor of Niger State,  Mohammed Umar Bago has approved the appointment of Professor  Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman as the new Vice Chancellor, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.  

A statement issued by Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, indicated that the appointment of Professor  Sulaiman by the Visitor to the University was on merit and for single term of five years.

The statement said the new Vice Chancellor is expected to bring to bear, his wealth of experience, given his  track record of achievements in various positions held at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. 

Professor Hadi Sulaiman was, until his appointment,  of the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. 

He is a distinguished academic with Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, where he has contributed significantly to the fields of Veterinary Science and Animal Physiology. 

His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including the histomorphological changes in animal reproductive systems, the effects of photoperiod on animal physiology, and the clinical implications of various surgical techniques in veterinary medicine.

Professor Sulaiman has published several notable articles, including studies on the histomorphological changes in the excurrent duct system of helmeted guinea fowl and the profiles of plasma interleukin-6 and interleukin-10 in relation to hematologic alterations in dogs. 

The new Vice Chancellor’s works has been featured in reputable journals such as Veterinary and Animal Science and Comparative Clinical Pathology, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in veterinary clinical practices.

His research also extends to the evaluation of urinary bladder defects in dogs and the mammogenic and lactogenic effects of natural extracts in lactating Wistar rats. 

With numerous publications in record and a dedication to veterinary research, Professor Sulaiman continues to influence the academic community and enhance the field of veterinary science in Nigeria.

The SSG stressed  that the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor is with immediate effect. 

He is enjoined to replicate and even surpass his performances at ABU, Zaria.
