The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu has suspended exams and implemented a three-day mourning period following the death of student Chiamaka Ozoigbondu in a campus accident linked to post-exam celebrations, while also banning on-campus celebrations and enforcing a strict speed limit for vehicles.


The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, has halted its ongoing examinations following the death of a Peaceland College student, Chiamaka Ozoigbondu, in a campus accident.
Two other students were injured and are receiving medical treatment. The accident was reportedly linked to post-exam celebrations.
Acting Rector, Emeka Ejim, expressed condolences and announced a three-day mourning period from October 2 to 3. IMT has banned all on-campus celebrations and set a 20 km/h speed limit for vehicles.
Ejim warned that violators, including students celebrating on campus, will face expulsion or arrest. The institute is also working with security agencies to ensure justice.
