Cursory: A Nigerian Hausa language lecturer, who teaches at FUDMA and runs a barbing side business has inspired people.

A Nigerian professor and lecturer named Bashir Aliyu Sallau has taken up barbing as a side business.
He teaches Hausa language at the Department of Hausa at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, FUDMA, Katsina State.
Professor Bashir does the barbing job during his spare time to avoid any conflict of interest with his regular lecturing career.
He shared that this side hustle came in handy and saved him during the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike when the Federal Government declared a no work, no pay policy against ASUU members.
Photos on social media show Professor Bashir engaging in the barbing job has sparked mixed reactions. While some supported him, others felt he could do better.

Below are some reactions:
Edache Gabriel: In as much as there is dignity in Labour, education gives us opportunities to entrepreneurship and proper business to maximize profits, time, energy and large results. He should have used his exposure and resources to step up the game differently.
Beniah Ben Wakama: I find this annoying that northerners are applauding this , that a professor is a barbing peoples hair to support himself. Professors are distinguish men and women who have distinguish themselves in a field of study. After putting years into research and study he ends up barbing to support himself is a show of a failed system. But northerner see it as noble. Nonsense
Bright Junior: God Abeg! Make person pikin no just witness bad thing for this life.
Quite sure; I have seen this Lecturer in FUDMA thrice now and I have deliberately attended one of his lectures during my leisure time right hear in Katsina back then in 2021, when you actually read Professor Isa Ali Pantami book on ‘Skills rather than just Degree’ you would understand that in this country, one just need to balance the odds!!!!🧐
Zachariah Fundiano: Proud of him for what? After attending the rank of professor you are still doing wanzami in the same manner. Ha! In prove on it now prof.
Ummee Shehu: Wow So Wonderful
Ali Musa: Very commendable, this will help our students to follow his footsteps, so that the dependency on government will be drastically reduced.
Edmond Onyenenue: This is highly commendable and worthy of emulation.
