JAMB Sets June 28 for 2025 Mop-Up UTME

JAMB has scheduled the 2025 UTME mop-up exam for June 28, involving over 96,000 candidates, while delisting 113 centres over malpractice and warning that impersonators will face prosecution and expulsion.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up test will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

According to a statement from JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, a total of 96,838 candidates are expected to participate. These include 5,096 spillover candidates who faced biometric verification issues and 91,742 candidates who were absent during both the main and rescheduled exams.

Candidates are advised to begin printing their notification slips starting Monday, June 23, 2025.

The exam will take place across 183 centres nationwide, with a few candidates placed on standby.

JAMB has also delisted 113 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres due to various infractions, including technical failures and exam malpractice. These centres are under investigation and may face prosecution.

The Board noted that investigations have revealed the involvement of exam fraud syndicates, including some school proprietors, tutorial centres, and even a few JAMB officials. The agency expressed appreciation to the State Security Service, Nigeria Police, and Civil Defence Corps for their efforts in uncovering identity theft and impersonation.

Several examination towns have been deactivated, and affected candidates will be reassigned to the nearest available centres. JAMB urged candidates to be understanding and cooperative.

In its continued crackdown on impersonation, especially by undergraduate students, JAMB warned that those caught will face expulsion from their institutions and prosecution under the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999.

The mop-up exam’s first session will begin at 8:00 AM, and candidates are required to arrive at least one hour early. The process will be closely monitored by special invigilators and security personnel to ensure transparency and integrity.
