Below is the O’level Requirement for Chemistry (UTME CANDIDATES)
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

- (i) IMSU accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language under exceptional circumstances.
- (ii) ABU accepts Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science Subject.
- (iii) CALABAR requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics /Mathematics. CALABAR accepts ‘O’ Level D7 in English and one (1) of Mathematics or Biology.
- (iv) BSU requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics.
- (v) ILORIN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology. (WAEC, NECO, SSCE, NABTEB etc).
- (vi) OAU and AAU accept any other subject in lieu of Biology.
- (vii) IBADAN requires five (5) or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) or two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
- (viii) GOUU and KUST require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and any other Science subject.
- (ix) AUE and BENIN accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
- (x) AJAYI accepts Geography in lieu of Physics.
- (xi) UYO requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language
- (xii) UMYUK requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry.
- (xiii) LAUTECH same as in Pure and Applied Physics.
- (xiv) CUAB and FUNAAB – Same as in Biochemistry.
- (xv) PHC requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- (xvi) AUN: a. requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3) subjects from the following; Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Biology, Further Mathematics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French. b. does not accept ‘O’ Level credit passes in the following; Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Book keeping, Islamic History, Religious Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills.
- (xvii) AAUA five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
- (xviii) NILE accepts English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any other two (2) Science subjects.
- (xix) GOUU same as in Biological Sciences.
- (xx) UMUDIKE same as in Mathematics.
- (xxi) PAAU and REDEEMER’S require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Chemistry Mathematics, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science. PAAU requires that ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed with ‘O’ Level pass in Biology.
- (xxii) MAKURDI accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in either Geography or Statistics in lieu of Biology.
- (xxiii) WESTERN-DEL requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include Chemistry, English Language, Physics, Mathematics and either Biology or Agriculture.
- (xxiv) NDU requires the five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings.
- (xxv) PAAU and UNN accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
- (xxxvi) KWASU – Same as in Mathematics.
- (xxvii) NDA requires one (1) other Science subject from Biology or Further Mathematics.
- (xxviii) MINNA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any other two (2) subjects from Physics, Biology, Further Mathematics, Geography and Technical Drawing.
- (xxix) FED-DUTSE accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSC level or its equivalent to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology at not more than two (2) sittings. ‘O’ Level WAEC and NECO can be combined in two sittings while NABTEB can only be combined with NABTEB.
- (xxx) ODUDUWA accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science or Health Science in place of Biology.
- (xxxi) SOSU accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science but with ‘O’ Level pass in Biology. (xxxii) PLASU accepts Further Mathematics and Agricultural Science as Science subjects.
- (xxxiii) FED-LOKOJA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
- (xxxiv) UNIKINGS as in Biochemistry
- (xxxv) EUI requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at not more than two (2) sittings.
- (xxxvi) DELSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits which must include English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and one other science subject.
- (xxxvii) FED-GASHUA requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- (xxxviii) MOUNTAIN TOP – The prospective candidates must have a minimum of five credits in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and any other relevant science subjects at the Ordinary level (O’ Levels) Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations at not more than two sittings.
- (xxxix) FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other science subject in not more than two sittings. At least a Pass is required in Biology.
- (xl) IAUED requires five (5)

Level credit including English Language and Mathematics and any three from Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Agric Science at not more than two (2) sittings. - (xli) FED-WUKARI – Candidates must obtain Five(5) Credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics obtained from Senior School Certificate(SSCE), National Examination Council(NECO), National Business and Technical Examination Board(NABTEB) (or its equivalent) or its equivalent. Credit in Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry/Fisheries/Forestry can be accepted in place of Biology for B. Sc. Industrial Chemistry only.
- (xlii) MAUTY accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- (xliii) FED-LAFIA requires Five (5) Credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB O’ Level examination in Mathematics, English Language, Biology/Agric. Science, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two sittings.
- (xliv) FED-KASHERE requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
- (xlv) KASU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and one other Science subject.
- (xlvi) SOSU accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- (xlvii) FED-DUTSINMA accepts Five ‘O’ level Credits including: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR CHEMISTRY
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology.
- ND/NCE with good grades in relevant ‘O’ level subjects.
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
- (i) RHEMA, OAU, UNN, OOU, BENIN, EKSU and BOWEN do not accept Biology.
- (ii) AAU accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics or Biology.
- (ii) AUE require ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and Chemistry. AUE accepts ND upper credit in Science and Technology with Chemistry option from recognised Polytechnics.
- (iv) IBADAN, UNN, LAGOS and OAU do not accept ND/NCE.
- (v) MAUTY accepts IJMB/ Two (2) A level credit passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. ND/HND with a minimum of credit passes in relevant field.
- (vi) MINNA accepts NCE credit and ND/HND lower credit in addition to ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry and two (2) other Science subjects.
- (vii) BENIN in addition to the UTME requirements, accepts (a) ND upper credit, HND lower credit in Polymer Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology and relevant programmes. (b) NCE merit with ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
- (viii) UDU, BAYERO, MAIDUGURI and LASU accept NCE Chemistry major.
- (ix) ILORIN accepts; a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and Physics (GCE, IJMB and JUPEB). b) NCE (Distinction/Merit passes) in Chemistry/Physics, Chemistry/Mathematics. c) Five (5) ‘O’ level credits in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology. (WAEC, NECO, SSCE, NABTEB etc).
- (x) FUNAAB same as in Biochemistry.
- (xi) JOS accepts Chemistry and Physics.
- (xii) FED-LAFIA accepts In addition to UTME requirements, DE candidates must have any of the following: IJMB: Minimum of 9 points ND: lower credit in Chemistry and any other relevant science courses /HND. NCE: Merit pass in NCE in Chemistry or any relevant subject.
- (xiii) ABSU and IMSU – No Direct Entry
- (xiv) MINNA accepts NCE credit, ND/HND lower credit in addition to ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry and two (2) other Science subjects.
- (xv) UYO accepts ND upper credit and HND lower credit in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
- (xvi) BAYERO accepts; a) Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. b) OND in Sciences relevant subjects.
- (xvii) UMUDIKE require ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics.
- (xviii) EKSU accepts ND upper credit.
- (xix) BSU accepts NCE merit, ND upper credit in relevant programmes plus five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at a sitting.
- (xx) IGBINEDION accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry plus Physics or Biology, ND in Science Technology with relevant ‘O’ Level requirements.
- (xxi) AAUA requires: a. two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology plus UTME requirement(s) b. ND upper credit in relevant discipline.
- (xxii) KUST accepts IJMB, NCE, HND credit, ND upper credit in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or any relevant subject/programme.
- (xxiii) AAU accepts NCE merit in Chemistry and any other Science subject.
- (xxiv) AJAYI requires ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry or NCE in Chemistry and Physics plus the UTME requirements.
- (xxv) CUAB accepts IJMB at acceptable grade levels.
- (xxvi) FUTO requires; a) At least two ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and one of Physics and Mathematics. b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Biochemistry, Computer Science or Engineering. c) First Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or Engineering. d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.
- (xxvii) UMYUK accepts candidates with ND/HND lower credit in Chemistry as major or its equivalent from a recognized institution. NCE candidates must have Chemistry as a major with any of Physics, Biology, Mathematics or other relevant subjects or certificate from a recognized university with a minimum of nine (9) points.
- (xxviii) NCE Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics plus ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics
- (xxix) AL-HIKMAH accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any other relevant subject and accepts ND in Science Laboratory Technology.
- (xxx) BOWEN same as in Biochemistry
- (xxxi) WESLEYUNI accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order. (b) ND upper credit in addition to five (5) ‘O’ credit passes or its equivalent.
- (xxxii) LAUTECH accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry Mathematics, Physics or Biology. (b) ND upper credit/ HND in related programmes plus the UTME requirements may be considered for admission into 200 level.
- (xxxiii) AUN accepts (a) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from English Language, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics and French. (b) (1) AUN does not accept ‘O’ Level credit passes in the following; Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Book keeping, Islamic History, Religious Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills. (2) AUN accepts ICGSE and ‘A’ Level Cambridge and does not offer admissions to 200 level programs. May transfer credits relevant to its major at the discretion of the Dean of school.
- (xxxiv) MAKURDI accepts (a) UTME requirements plus `’A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one (1) other relevant Science subject may be admitted to 200 level . (b) HND upper credit in relevant programmes who possess the UTME requirements may also be admitted to the 200 level . (c) NCE with two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects, which must include Chemistry, and those who possess the UTME requirements may be admitted to 200 level.
- (xxxv) WESTERN-DEL accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics. (b) ND/HND lower credit in Science Laboratory Technology SLT, or Polymer Chemistry in the relevant programme from a recognized Polytechnic. (c) NCE credit in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidates should have an overall merit.
- (xxxvi) UNN does not accept ‘A’ Level Biology.
- (xxxvii) TSUJ (a) Requires three (3) ‘A’ Level passes which must include Chemistry combination. (b) Accepts NCE merit and ND/HND credit in related programmes in addition to the UTME requirements.
- (xxxviii) GOUU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. ND/NCE with good grade in relevant ‘O’ Level subjects.
- (xxxix) KWASU – Same as in Mathematics.
- (xl) CRUTECH accepts a) For Chemistry ND upper credit in Science Laboratory Technology, HND lower credit in Food Technology, NCE merit in Chemistry and any other Science subject, IJMB B grade in Chemistry and any other Science subject. b) For Biochemistry ND upper credit in Science Laboratory Technology, HND lower credit in Food Technology, NCE merit in Chemistry and Biology, IJMB B grade in Chemistry and Biology.
- (xli) MCPHERSON accepts HND lower credit, ND upper credit in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and any other relevant programme. ‘O’ Level credit passes in any two (2) of Biology, Physics and Mathematics in addition to ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Biology.
- (xlii) CALEB – Same as Microbiology and Industrial Biotechnology.
- (xliii) NDU accepts a. ND upper credit in Chemistry or any of the Sciences or Applied Sciences, e.g. Engineering, etc or NCE merit. b. Higher ND HND in Chemistry and in addition must have five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- (xliv) NILE – Same as in Computer Science.
- (xlv) EBSU accepts HND, ND upper credit and NCE merit respectively in the relevant programme/subjects. It accepts only ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics.
- (xlvi) SOUTHWESTERN accepts (a) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics or Biology. (b) ND upper credit, HND lower credit in Polymer Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology in relevant programmes.
- (xlvii) LAGOS accepts (a) very good passes in the following three JUPEB/’A’ Level subjects: Chemistry, Physics and any one (1) of Mathematics and Biology. (b) Candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements.
- (xlviii) MOUNTAIN TOP – Students with an Ordinary National Diploma from an accredited polytechnic or other equivalent institutions, will be considered for admission provided they graduated from the respective institutions with a minimum of Lower Credit grade (or its equivalent) in addition to fulfilling the O’ Level subject requirement listed above. Candidates with at least two passes in JUPEB/IJMB or its equivalent in relevant subjects may be considered for admission through direct entry into second year.
- (xlix) PLASU accepts a) degree in any programme provided the candidate meets the UTME requirements. b) HND lower credit in relevant programme, with the UTME requirements. c) ND lower credit in relevant programmes with the UTME requirements. d) IJMB minimum of seven (7) points with passes in relevant subjects, with the UTME requirements. e) PLASU does not accept University diplomas and other diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting bodies. (l) UNIKINGS as in Biochemistry.
- (li) EUI accepts; a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. b) NCE with at least Merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject. c) OND/HND with credit passes from a recognised institution in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements.
- (lii) DELSU requires at least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics.
- (liii) FED-GASHUA requires; a) HND (Lower Credit). b) ND/OND (Upper Credit). c) NCE (Merit) and above in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Biology. d) IJMB (6 points minimum) are admitted into 200 Level.
- (liv) FED-DUTSE requires OND, HND, NCE or IJMB with minimum of eight (8) points. Also, Diploma holders in relevant areas from NBTE accredited Institutions with at least Merit.
- (lv) RSU in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements accepts: (a) HND (Lower Credit) in relevant discipline. (b) OND/ND (Upper Credit) in relevant discipline. (c) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and either Biology or Physics.
- (lvi) FUPRE requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology.
- (lvii) IAUED accepts five (5)

Level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language, plus Diploma or NCE in Chemistry at credit level or 2 credits passed at advanced Level. - (lviii) ABU accepts Two ‘A’ level /IJMB passes in Chemistry and any other Science Subject.
- (lix) FED-WUKARI – Direct Entry candidates must obtain at least two ‘A’/ Level passes in Science subjects at GCE A/ Level IJMB/Advanced NABTEB or merit pass at NCE in Chemistry and one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology / Computer Science at least Credit in OND/HND in relevant field. Candidate must also satisfy UTME admission requirements of Five (5) credits in relevant field including English and Mathematics.
- (lx) PHC accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics including UTME entry requirements.
- (lxi) FED-KASHERE accepts Two A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology, Credit passes in ND, NCE/IJMB Lab. Sci. or NCE Chemistry, Biology or Physics/ relevant IJMB combination.
- (lxii) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics and Biology. ND/HND/NCE with merit/ Lower Credit in related field in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements. IJMB/GCE ‘A’ Level with 7 points and above.
- (lxiii) SOSU accepts GCE ‘A’ level with a minimum of merit at NCE or its equivalent in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. ND with a minimum of Lower Credit in a relevant course. IJMB or its equivalent with at least two (2) credits and one (1) pass.
- (lxiv) FED-DUTSINMA accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. ND/NCE with good grades and relevant ‘O’ level subjects.
- (lxv) FED-LOKOJA requires; a) For IJMB, two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any other of Mathematics, Physics or Biology. b) For NCE, minimum of credit passes in Chemistry and either Biology/Physics/Mathematics. c) For OND, minimum of upper credit in Polymer Chemistry, Colour Chemistry, Science Laboratory Technology and Analytical Chemistry. d) Lower Credit in Polymer Chemistry, Colour Chemistry, Science Laboratory Technology and Analytical Chemistry.

I registered a wrong subjects combination in 2019 UTME for FUTO.Please what do I do.
