Kebbi govt releases N457m as scholarships for her students


The Sum of N457 million has been released by the Kebbi State government for her students studying in various Higher institutions of learning across the Country.

Professor Umar Muktar Bunza, who is the Commissioner for Higher Education in the state disclosed this to Nigeria Tribune Online in an interview, he further said that payment would commence soonest so that students can start their registration and payments of their School fees together.

Bunza also revealed that the state government has commenced screening of 500 indigenous students of the state who would be sent abroad for studies in some specialized areas such as Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, ICT and para-medical sciences.

The commissioner also informed that the state government has approved that confirmation of Dr Abubakar Abubakar as the Substantive Provost of the Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu, Dr Muhammad Murtala Musa, the Provost, College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin-Kebbi and Malam Sa’ad Haruna as Provost, College of Health Technology, Jega.

Their appointments according to the commissioner which is for a single term of five years was based on merit during their acting capacity, he, therefore, urged them to double their effort to move their various institutions to the highest level since they are now confirmed.
