Nigerian Lady Cries Out Over Low Salary Offers Despite Master’s Degree And 10 Years Experience

Nigerian Lady expressed frustration after spending four months job hunting and receiving salary offers of ₦350,000 to ₦400,000 despite holding a master’s degree and having 10 years of work experience.

A Nigerian woman has gone viral after opening up about the frustrating reality of job hunting in the country despite having impressive academic qualifications and years of professional experience.

The lady revealed in a video shared online that she has been searching for a job for the past four months without success. According to her, the process has been emotionally draining and discouraging, as many companies continue to offer salaries she considers too low for her qualifications and level of experience.

Expressing her disappointment, she explained that unemployment in Nigeria can push people into desperation, adding that some of the harsh realities people face make it easier to understand why certain individuals eventually turn to fraudulent activities in order to survive.

She stated that although she possesses a master’s degree and has spent about ten years building her career, most of the job offers she has received fall between ₦350,000 and ₦400,000 monthly. The woman noted that she expected a salary range closer to ₦1 million to ₦2 million because of her educational background, expertise, and years of experience in the workforce.

In her words, she questioned why employers would demand extensive qualifications and long-term experience from applicants while offering salaries many professionals consider inadequate in the current economic situation. Her emotional reaction quickly drew attention online, with many Nigerians relating to her frustration and sharing similar experiences about the country’s challenging labour market.

Several social media users sympathized with her, arguing that many skilled professionals in Nigeria are underpaid despite inflation and the rising cost of living. Others, however, debated whether her salary expectations were realistic in today’s economy, especially given the high level of unemployment and competition for available positions.

The video has since sparked wider conversations online about unemployment, underpayment, and the struggles faced by educated Nigerians trying to secure decent jobs in the country.
