List of Outstanding Nigerian Graduates with a 5.0 CGPA

Nigerians have demonstrated time and again that it is possible to break records in addition to setting them.

A few weeks ago, Lagos State University law student, Ojo Aminat Yusuf broke a forty-year-old record by graduating with an impeccable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0.

Aminat’s accomplishment marks her as the first LASU alumna to accomplish such a noteworthy victory.

However numerous Nigerians have already accomplished the same amazing feat.

1. Daniel Dada Ayodele

Daniel Dada Ayodele, a psychology department graduate, was the highlight of the University of Lagos’ (UNILAG) 2014–2015 Convocation.

When Dada graduated with a CGPA of 5.00, he broke the previous record.

According to The Nation, Prof.Rahamon Bello, the vice chancellor of UNILAG at the time, made the following statement:

“A perfect score. This means he scored A’s in all courses he took in the programme. I congratulate the graduate with a First Class‎.”

Narrating how he made such remarkable feat, Dada said he never slept without reading what was taught in the lecture hall.

2. Taiwo and Omotuyi Ajoke

These two UNILAG female students equalled Ayodele’s record-breaking 5.0 CGPA the following year, according to The Punch.

Omotuyi received her degree from the Department of Systems Engineering, while Bankole graduated from the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics.

3. Ajia Motunrayo

The 21-year-old student from Covenant University, studying petroleum engineering was the first in the school’s history to do this.

She graduated in the 2018–19 academic year with a flawless CGPA of 5.00, according to The Punch.

4. Asaka Ewerechukwu

With a CGPA of 5.0, Ewerechukwu Asaka was the top graduating student from Computer Science in Covenant University for the 2020–2021 academic year.

5. Fatima Andat Dashe

According to Daily Independent, Dashe Fatima Andat, an accounting student, graduated from Covenant University in 2023 with a CGPA of 5.0.

6. Gloria Ezuma Bozhena

At Nile University of Nigeria’s 8th Convocation ceremony on March 6, 2021, Gloria Bozhena Ezuma, a Business Administration student, achieved a 5.0 CGPA, as announced by the college on its website.

7. Dr. Victor Olalusi

Dr. Victor Olalusi was the top graduating student in the Russian Federation in 2013, according to Guardian. At Russian National Research Medical University in Moscow (RNRMU), he obtained a 5.0 CGPA.

Through the Russia-Nigeria Bilateral Education Agreement, Olabisi studied at RNRMU.

8. Mobolaji Oluwasona Olukayode

Olukayode Mobolaji Oluwasona graduated from the University of Computer Sciences and Skills, Lodz, in 2017 with a CGPA of 5.0 in computer technology.

After leaving Nigeria at 200 level as part of a special degree exchange program set up by Babcock University, with the University of Computer Sciences and Skills, Lodz, Poland, he accomplished this amazing feat.

9. Oluwatuyi OlowoyeyeOluwatuyi

Olowoyeye completed his master’s program in 2021 at the University of Debrecen in Hungary, with a flawless 5.0 GPA.

“I graduated from the prestigious University of Debrecen with a perfect GPA of 5.0, capped with special honors,” he said in a post on his LinkedIn profile.

10. Olisola Aanu Olabanjo

Olisola Aanu Olabanjo is another Nigerian who completed a Master’s program with a flawless CGPA.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the 24th LASU Convocation Ceremony, Olabanjo won Best MSc student.

11. Otunba Mary

With a 5.0 CGPA, Mary Otunba graduated from Caleb University Business School in 2020 as the top student in her department.

“My experience over the years had thought me that life is in phases. All I need is to enjoy every bit of it cos they are not meant to last forever.” she wrote in a LinkedIn post.
