A man alleged that a Philosophy lecturer at Olabisi Onabanjo University sabotaged his CGPA, dropping it from 3.5 to 2.9, after discovering he was dating a female student the lecturer desired.

A man has shared a shocking story of how a Philosophy Department lecturer at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) allegedly caused his CGPA to drop from 3.5 to 2.9 due to the lecturer’s romantic interest in his girlfriend.
The man revealed the details in a post on X (formerly Twitter), recounting how his 400-level project was rejected just three days before submission, severely impacting his academic performance. According to him, the lecturer became hostile after discovering he was in a relationship with a female student the lecturer desired.
He narrated that his girlfriend, known for her beauty, often attracted attention from lecturers in the department. However, he did not anticipate that his relationship with her would lead to such severe academic consequences.
The turning point came when he caught the lecturer in his girlfriend’s room, wearing only boxers and a singlet. This incident confirmed his suspicions about the reason behind his declining grades.
In his post, he wrote:
“I dated one girl during my university days. She was in my department, and we were both in 300 level at the time. Being one of the most beautiful women in the department, lecturers wanted their share of attention. I expected that, but not to my detriment.”
“The lecturer found out I was her boyfriend and targeted me. My 400-level project was rejected just three days to submission, and my CGPA dropped drastically. It wasn’t until 400-level second semester that I discovered he had been sabotaging me. I caught him in my girlfriend’s room, wearing just boxers and a singlet.”
The man further revealed that his supervisor eventually showed leniency, giving him a “B” on his project despite the challenges. Reflecting on the incident, he added that his girlfriend, who he later forgave, graduated with a third class.
“I suffered, my friends suffered, and I later learned my lecturer and I were unknowingly involved with the same person for over a year. It taught me a hard lesson about trust and relationships,” he concluded.

The story has sparked discussions about ethics in academia and the challenges students face when personal and professional boundaries are crossed.
