“Killer doc” indeed. A lab scientist displaying ignorance. It is clearly stated that Colchicine should not be coadminster with a macrolide ( eg Clarithromycin, Azithromycin etc). Ciprofloxacin (a Fluoroquinolone) belongs to a separate class of antibiotics entirely and it is not even listed among the drugs that can cause adverse effects when coadminster with colchicine. Hasty action may boomerang hence the need to be careful when putting out information in public space. It is obvious Mr Lab scientist had a “knee jerk moment”

So, instead of reporting via the right channel , you decide to bring it online to create panic and chase clout. Next time do your research well. Cipro and colchicine can be taken together and taking them will.bring no harm

Very proud of the professionals on the blog that have punctured the post. Glad to know we aren’t all ignorant and uneducated!! Hopefully the less medically aware will actually read the corrections. And hopefully the patient and his lab scientist friend will be re-educated.

colcichine on it s own can have reactions. the antibiotics that u should nt take include macrolides such as azithromycin, erythromycin and clarithromycin. i think the reaction is from the cocichine and they should find another alternative i m guessing for gout.. pls dont be quick to judge ur doctor.
