LAUTECH Wins N20 Million Naira AT NOA 2024 Value-train-2- Campus Debate

The representatives of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) bagged the N20 million Naira prize at the National Orientation Agency’s Value-train-to-campus debate finale, which held at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

Finalists across the six zones competed fiercely on the topic “NATIONAL VALUES CHARTER: Criticising and Dissenting Peacefully while maintaining Love for country”.

In his opening remark, the Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, urged Nigerians to view criticism objectively and disassociate the term from its negative nuances, as criticism exists to aid improvement and sustainability.

He explained that the concept for this debate is to encourage open dialogue between citizens and the government through constructive criticism.

The maiden edition of the Value Train-to-Campus debate concluded in spectacular fashion, with an open voting style leaving the fate of the winners to the impressions of the online public.

However, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, reminded all contestants that, regardless, all of them are winners.

Participating schools at the grand finale included:

  1. Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Osun State.
  2. Gombe Polytechnic, Bajoga, Gombe state.
  3. Institute of Management and Technology, (IMT), Enugu, Enugu state
  4. University of Ilorin, Kwara state
  5. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state
  6. Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

At the event, the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, (NELFUND) Akintunde Sawyerr, also made a guest appearance, explaining the benefits and nature of NELFUND activities.

He awarded special prizes to all six zonal contestants and an additional N1 million Naira prize to the winning school.
Congratulations to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
