McPherson University Appoints Dr. Olumurewa Kayode Oladele as Acting Dean, Student Affairs.

The Management of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has approved the appointment of Dr. Olumurewa Kayode Oladele as the Acting Dean, Student Affairs, with effect from August 1, 2025, for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Dr. Olumurewa holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science (2021), M.Sc. in Materials Science (2017), and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics 2012), all from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He joined McPherson University in October 2017 and has since served in several academic and administrative capacities within the institution. Until his current appointment, he was the Acting Director of the University’s SIWES programme (2019–2025).

He has held numerous leadership and committee roles including Chairman, Students’ Disciplinary Committee; Chairman, Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee; Chairman, College Welfare; and Male Hall Master. He has also served as a member of the University Governing Council, Senate, College Board of Studies, University Board of Chaplaincy, Ceremonies Committee, Branding Committee, and the Directorate of Sports, among many others.

Dr. Olumurewa is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) and The Electrochemical Society (USA). His scholarly achievements include several research grants and international fellowships, such as the MIT-ETT Postdoctoral Fellowship (2025) and the PTDF Ph.D. Scholarship (2019). He is an active researcher with a focus on advanced materials and has served as a peer reviewer for leading international journals. His appointment is a testament to his dedication, leadership, and consistent contribution to the university community.
