The management of Niger Delta University (NDU) has announced an increment of ₦7,000 in school fees for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a receipt from the Office of the Bursar, fresh students in the Nursing Science department are now required to pay a total of ₦158,000, covering acceptance fees, development levy, medical examination, library levy, ICT levy, and other charges.
This adjustment represents a slight increase compared to the previous session, when new intakes paid ₦151,000. The increment has been attributed to rising costs in general maintenance, equipment upkeep, and other student services.
The new fee structure applies strictly to freshers, while returning students are expected to continue with their previously approved charges.
Students and parents have expressed mixed reactions to the development, with some citing economic hardship, while others believe the increment is modest compared to hikes in other universities across Nigeria.
