The Remi Okunrinboye Foundation has announced plans to grant three-year scholarships to 200 Junior Secondary School students in Nigeria.
In a statement, Dekunle Okunrinboye, the philanthropist and youth empowerment advocate, highlighted the foundation’s dedication to advancing education, with the first phase set to begin in Ondo State in September 2024.
Senator Remi Okunrinboye leads the foundation, aiming to significantly improve educational opportunities for young learners in the state.
The scholarships will cover tuition, welfare, books, and uniforms, with added support like extracurricular activities and mentorship to empower students fully.
Selection criteria will prioritize academic merit, financial need, and a genuine passion for learning, overseen by a committee of experts.
The foundation also pledges to monitor the progress of scholars closely and provide tailored support to ensure their academic success.
Mr. Chris Schwelbs, the principal of Adedewe College, Owo, lauded the initiative as transformative for both students and the community, expressing eagerness to collaborate for its success.
