A 50-year-old Nigerian woman has become an internet sensation as she returned to school at the age of 50.
Her son, Chima Onwumere who shared the news on his Facebook page disclosed that his mother had called him on the phone last year, informing him of her intent to return to school as she didn’t get the opportunity to do so earlier because she married young.
Sharing pictures of his mum who recently matriculated at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Chima said his mum sat for the General Certificate Examination (GCE) and was admitted into LAPOSTECH.
The mother of 5, according to her son, said she decided to enrol in school because of her lifelong passion for knowledge and learning, adding that she also needed the growth for career advancement.
