National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) NYSC Reward six Corps Members as 2300 Pass out In Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has presented awards to six corps members for their excellent performance among the 2,300 Batch ‘A’ 2019 members that passed out in Osun State. They received their certificate of recognition during the Passing-Out ceremony which held at the Osogbo City Stadium.

The State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola commended NYSC for moulding the future leaders for the nation. Oyetola who was represented by the Deputy governor, Mr Benedict Alabi, charged the corps members to be employers of labour and not job seekers.

The governor said the honour was bestowed on the six corps members for their meritorious service in their places of primary assignment.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke said nine corps members would repeat their service while seven others that contravened the provisions of the NYSC Act were given extension of the service year.

Ayodele charged the corps members to look inwards and tap from their innate abilities and more especially the skills they were exposed to under the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme so as to be self-reliant.

He said, “Do not despise little beginnings but strive to make the best of every opportunity that comes your way and take solace in this common saying that little drops of water make a mighty ocean.”

The ceremony was spiced with excellent parade display by corps members and the NYSC cultural troops electrified the gathering with local drumbeat and trilling dance drama to the admiration of the personalities that graced the occasion.
