“It all started when I lost my mum” – Man shares story of how he made it through school

A Nigerian man who goes by the name Peter Ebuka Agbo has taken to LinkedIn to share the story of how he made it through school after passing out of the National Youth Service Corps.

Peter, who just finished his NYSC Passing Out Parade (POP) ceremony, said at some points while in school, he fed on biscuits and water for many days.

He revealed in a LinkedIn post that things were very tough for him when he was in school, adding that the death of his mother made things more difficult.

I feel emotional right now. Congratulations to me‼️ 🎉🕺

You know, there’s no better way to express this feeling than saying, thank you, Jesus. 🥺🙏🏾

First, it all started some years ago in 2012, after I lost my mom. Her death made life more difficult for us and so I thought it was over for my dreams.

Fascinatingly, whenever I looked back at Dad and my siblings. I always got the “we are looking up to you message” in their eyes.

My stay in the tertiary was dreadful. The worst was my 200L. I remember not having a penny for over 2 weeks and fed on just biscuits and purewater, crying all night for years.

Today, I have just completed my NYSC service with a fierce income. I work as the Social Media Strategist at Nobellum.

I am among the top 50 African Influencers on LinkedIn by Engati in 2022.

And most importantly, the Founder of HireRite Services – an organization that helps companies and brands source suitable staff and trains job seekers with the appropriate skill that they need to stay employable.

Happily, I can see a boy bigger than his dreams of yesterday.

Who could have thought, I could do so much even before graduating officially?

Truly, a man plans his way but the Lord directs his paths according to Prov. 4. 🙏🏾

Today, I want to encourage you that where you are could be your starting point. Don’t see yourself as a finished deal.

You could live without 3 Square meals and emerge a winner amongst many.

You could wear just a pair of trousers all through your university period and turn out to be a pioneer of an NGO that caters to the needy.

Do not let anything make you question your existence, anymore!

Permit me to use this opportunity to acknowledge the very people who stood by me, regardless of every odd. I am most grateful to my beloved family.

And to everyone on this platform that has been a blessing to me one way or the order, thank you aplenty.
