In faculty of Social/Management Sciences: English, and any three (3) Social Science or Arts Subjects.
In the faculty of Arts and Humanities: English, Government/History plus two (2) other Social Sciences/Arts subjects.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY

In faculty of Social/Management Sciences: Five (5) SSC credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three (3) other subjects. A pass in Mathematics is required.
In the faculty of Arts and Humanities: Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, History/Government/Economics one (1) Science subject and any Arts or Social Science subject

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY

In faculty of Social/Management Sciences: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes including Government or History.
In the faculty of Arts and Humanities: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes including Government or History.

JAMB SPECIAL CONSIDERATION SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY IN THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL/MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

(i) BENIN accepts two (2) Social Science subjects and any other subject.
(vi) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics, and any two (2) from Literature in English, Geography, Christian Religious Studies/ Islamic Studies/Government, History, Economics.
(vii) EBSU requires Government/History plus two (2) other social science/Arts subjects.
(viii) ESUTECH requires Government.

O’LEVEL SPECIAL CONSIDERATION SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY IN THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL/MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

(i) EBSU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, History/Government/Economics one science subject and any Arts or Social Science subject.
(ii) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics and at least two (2) Social Science and one Arts subject.
(iii) UYO requires at least ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics
(iv) UNIZIK requires Five (5) ‘O’ Level credits passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) Arts/Social Science subjects
(v) IMSU requires ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics
(vi) UNN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language, one Science subject, and at least three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects.
(vii) ESUTECH requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two (2) Arts or Social Science subjects.
(viii) BENIN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any two (2) Social Science subjects.
(ix) BSU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes from any Social Science or Arts subjects.
(x) BIU same as in Political Science.

DIRECT ENTRY SPECIAL CONSIDERATION SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY IN THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL/MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

(i) UNN accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Social Science or Arts subjects in addition to the UTME requirements.
(ii) EKSU and IMSU – No direct entry.
(iii) BENIN requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including any Social Science subject; ND upper credit/HND lower credit in relevant Social Science programmes such as public Administration, Mass Communication; NCE overall merit with a credit in relevant Social Science subject. Direct Entry candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements.
(iv) EBSU accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and upper credit respectively in relevant programmes/subjects.
(v) UYO accepts ND/HND/NCE in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
(vi) OAU requires a. ‘A’ Level passes in any three (3) from Geography, Government, History, Economics, Sociology, Christian Religious Studies/ Islamic Studies. b. ND/HND upper credit in Mass Communication, Social Work, Mathematics/Statistics.
(vii) UNIZIK requires similar requirements as for Economics for both Direct Entry and UTME applicants but a pass in ‘O’ Level Mathematics is acceptable.
(viii) IMSU- No Direct Entry. (ix) BIU same as Political Science
(x) OAU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in subjects such as Economics, Geography, Government / History
(xi) CUAB accepts IJMB at acceptable grades.
(xii) NDU accepts a. two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Government, Economics, Religious Knowledge, Geography, and History. b. ND upper credit in related programmes. c. NCE credit in related programmes.
(xiii) ESUTECH requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes, including Government or History plus the UTME requirements. Accepts ND merit in Social Work/Development and Administration, plus UTME requirements.

FOR FACULTY OF ARTS / HUMANITIES

JAMB SPECIAL CONSIDERATION SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY IN THE FACULTY OF ARTS/HUMANITIES

i) FED-KASHERE requires Government or History plus two other Arts or Social Science

O’LEVEL SPECIAL CONSIDERATION SOCIOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY IN THE FACULTY OF ARTS/HUMANITIES

(i) PLASU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language and three (3) Social sciences or Arts subjects plus at least ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.
(ii) FED-KASHERE requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Government/History and two other Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
