Cursory: A Kenyan teacher won hearts by mending a student’s uniform so that she wouldn’t have to enter the classroom half-naked. The instructor, Joyce Sempela Malit, has been a teacher for 34 years, and she always brings a needle and thread to class.

On May 8, the majority of schools began the second term. As the students strolled into the classroom, Madam Joyce Sempela Malit observed that one had a ripped uniform.
Sempela, a teacher of 34 years, claimed in an interview with TUKO.co.ke that the young girl’s uniform was damaged during recess when she was playing.
“The girl is in Grade Three and her home is very far, so I couldn’t release the child half naked. I decided to sew her dress; I always carry a needle and thread around so I closed the door and covered her with my leso, then started mending her dress,” she said.
Reports have it that she has been doing this kind of deed for years now.
A photo of her doing her thing effortlessly was shared on Facebook and has gotten people from all walks of life to thank the teacher for having a good heart.
They have also urged the Teacher’s Service Commission to promote the seasoned teacher a job well done since 1989.
