A 19-year-old Nigerian student, Marvellous Ugochukwu, who was studying medicine in Canada, has tragically passed away after being struck by a truck while waiting for a bus in Regina.

The heartbreaking incident occurred along Dewdney Avenue near Elphinstone Street in Regina. According to reports, Marvellous was standing at a bus stop when a truck veered off the road and crashed into the bus shelter, fatally hitting her.

Family in Grief

Her elder sister, Miracle Ugochukwu, shared how she discovered the devastating news. On Sunday, October 12, she realized that Marvellous hadn’t arrived at work as expected. Concerned, she went out to search for her sister, only to be shown Marvellous’ passport at the scene of the accident—confirming her worst fears.

Through tears, Miracle recalled,

“She was going to work that Sunday, and she was happy going to work when it happened.”

Dreams Cut Short
