Sokoto State Scholarship Board Announces Verification Exercise for 2025/2026 Beneficiaries.


The Sokoto State Scholarship Board has announced the commencement of a verification exercise for newly admitted and returning students who are beneficiaries of the State Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a public announcement issued on 18th December, 2025, the exercise is for indigenes of Sokoto State currently studying at the following institutions:
- Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS)
- Shehu Shagari College of Education (Affiliated to UDUS and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria)
- Shehu Shagari University of Education
- Sokoto State University
The verification exercise will begin with students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, scheduled to hold from Monday, 5th January to Saturday, 10th January, 2026. This will be followed by the verification of students of Sokoto State University, which will take place from Monday, 26th January to Saturday, 31st January, 2026.
The exercise will be conducted within the respective schools and will commence daily by 8:00 a.m. prompt.
All affected students are required to attend the exercise with the following documents:
- Completed Scholarship Application Form
- Original and photocopies of all academic credentials
- Indigene Letter
- Confirmation of Admission
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip
- Invoice and Remita, or other evidence of payment of registration fees
The Board further stated that the date and venue for students of Shehu Shagari University of Education and Shehu Shagari College of Education (Affiliated to UDUS and ABU Zaria) will be communicated in due course.
The announcement was signed by Abubakar Ahmad, Director of Student Matters, for the Secretary of the Sokoto State Scholarship Board.
