According to the Daily Trust report, some students in Kano State lamented that they could not obtain their NECO results because the state government failed to settle their payments with NECO.

Some of their colleagues who saw their results have been accepted by various colleges and universities.
However, affected students may miss the opportunity to enter the higher education institution of their choice.
The Daily Trust has collected that some colleges and universities in the state have postponed the admissions process to provide affected candidates with a chance to obtain results.
NECO released the results of the 2021 exam on October 29, but students at Kano Public Schools have not been able to access their results until now.
Many students expressed concern that they might not be admitted due to development.
“Imagine losing admission in our state universities and this is due to failure of our state government to pay NECO. This is unimaginable,” one of the affected students said.
“The school I applied for will close their portal tomorrow (Friday) for post UTME and yet I didn’t get my result. I don’t know what to do and there is nothing they can do for me without that result. I honestly feel like giving up,” another student said.,” another student said.
A father, Mallam Sulaiman Sani, who runs an Internet cafe business in the state, said that his son has obtained all the requirements to enter the university, but he is waiting for the results of NECO but is unable to do so.
He said that with his son, many students flock to his cafe every day to ask whether the results have been announced. The masses are most affected by the plight.
“I doubt what will happen if this continues for the next one or two weeks because Kano will be left behind in terms of admission. Many students will have to wait till next year. The government should do the needful to rescue the situation. You can recall that many of the students paid for themselves since they failed in qualifying,” he said.
Since the phone call from our reporter was unanswered, Kano State Education Commissioner Sanusi Saidu Kiru could not be reached to comment on this matter.
But sources in the ministry said the government is working wildly to pass the bill to announce the results.
Another source also told our reporter that the government and stakeholders including the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) have held many meetings on this matter, and the government is ready to resolve the matter within a short period.
