UNILAG Student Buys Rice at N10k from Customs, Shares Experience with Soldier

Cursory: A University of Lagos student shared a TikTok video revealing how she purchased half a bag of rice for 10,000 naira at the customs office, following an undisclosed arrangement. See full details…

A courageous student from the esteemed University of Lagos revealed an undisclosed arrangement that enabled her to purchase half a bag of rice for a mere 10,000 naira at the customs office, as depicted in a TikTok video.

Encouraged by her adventurous peers, who persuaded her to partake in this remarkable opportunity, she decided to take the risk and join them in the endeavor, which seemed almost too good to be true.

In the video, shared by @sisi_remi, she proudly displayed the rice she had acquired, while explaining the strict prohibition on filming at the customs office and the constant surveillance by armed soldiers to enforce this rule.

During a brief conversation with another student, Walida Salis, from Nasarawa State University, she expressed the view that every state should have access to such an initiative.

She emphasized that those who were able to obtain the rice would benefit for weeks, and highlighted the potential of such programs to alleviate hunger and food shortages among students on campuses across the country.

“Those that are able to get the rice, I believe it would benefit them for weeks. This is something that every state, particularly students, should benefit from as it will help us reduce hunger and starvation within the campus,” She said.
