UNILORIN to Introduce Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography as Undergraduate Programmes.


The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, has disclosed that the institution is anticipating to introduce new medical/health courses like Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography.
This was disclosed in the institution’s bulletin released on 18th February 2019.
“The university is looking at commencement of other health care related disciplines such as Dentistry, Medical Laboratory, and Radiography as our resources improve” Abdulkareem said.

Prof Abdulkareem also appealed to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) to raise the admission quota of the institution’s MB, BS programme from its present 150 to 250 in the coming academic session (2019/2020).
He explained the upward review will give the University new challenges and help improve the poor patient-doctor ratio in the country.
