Meanwhile, accommodations offering air conditioning are priced at GH¢16,389 for a 2-in-a-room setup.

Students seeking solitary living conditions for comfort and privacy are expected to pay even more, between GH¢18,000 and GH¢27,000 for a 1-in-a-room arrangement.

International students face an even higher financial burden, with fees ranging from GH¢8,576 for a 4-in-a-room option to GH¢35,320 for a 1-in-a-room setup.

Netizens who viewed a video highlighting these fees have expressed dismay and called on the University of Ghana administration to take immediate action. Social media reactions reflect widespread dissatisfaction, with many questioning why hostel fees exceed tuition costs.

The outcry underscores growing concerns among students about affordability and fairness in housing policies at the University of Ghana.
