UNN in Shock As They Discover Rotten Body of a Fresh Medical Student

The University of Nigeria Nsukka has announced how distressed and shocked it was over the discovery of the decomposing body of one of her student, Favour Okenyi, a 100 level Medical Laboratory student.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), announced on Sunday that it was in shock following the discovery of the lifeless body of a student, Favour Okenyi, on Friday.

Okenyi, a first-year Medical Laboratory Science student, had not returned after attending a practical Chemistry class the previous Tuesday.

Her decomposing body was found in a drainage channel near Akanu Ibiam Stadium at UNN, with some vital organs reportedly missing.

UNN spokesperson Okwun Omeaku expressed the institution’s sorrow and stated that the management is working with security agencies to investigate the incident.

The statement provided to Vanguard read,

“The University of Nigeria community was shocked on Friday, July 5, 2024, by the distressing discovery of a lifeless body found in a drainage near Akanu Ibiam Stadium, UNN.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased, Okenyi Favour Oluchukwu, was a first-year student enrolled in our Department of Medical Laboratory Science.

“The University administration is deeply saddened by the loss of our student and extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased for the tragic death of such a promising young student.

“The management is collaborating with security agencies and the family of the deceased to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death and prevent any potential recurrence of such incidents in the future.

“We implore anyone in possession of useful information that could aid in the investigation to kindly reach out to the University administration.”

A university security staff member, speaking anonymously to Vanguard stated, “Some vital parts of her body were cut off. So the corpse might have been kept in the gutter before the rainfall that flooded it. But from every indication, her death is likely connected to ritual killers.”
