The management of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), Niger state, has sought the intervention of former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida to complete the school’s senate building, which has been abandoned.
The acting vice chancellor (VC), Professor Mohammed Saba Mohammed, appealed to the former head of state to use his influence and vast connection to attract corporate institutions and government’s assistance for the uncompleted senate building and other infrastructural projects at the university.
He spoke when he led the institution’s management team to visit the general at his Hill Top residence, in Minna.
Mohammed thanked the elder statesman for the selfless service he had rendered to the country and humanity, adding that his generous support to the growth and development of IBBUL is immeasurable.
He equally appreciated the former military president for honouring the university’s third combined convocation ceremony, where he was represented by a former minister of Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Muye.
In his remark, IBB promised to look into the issue of the abandoned multi-million naira building, with a view to completing the mega project within a short time.
While appreciating the management for the courtesy visit, the statesman prayed that the university would continue to grow steadily.
