A distraught Nigerian woman has accused her driver, Ibrahim, of secretly duplicating her house key and stealing a box of U.S. dollars she had saved for her daughter’s aAoverseas school fees, sparking outrage and renewed debate online about trust and background checks for domestic workers.

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media in distress after her driver, identified only as Ibrahim, allegedly duplicated her house key and stole a box filled with U.S. dollars meant for her daughter’s tuition abroad.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, the heartbroken woman recounted how she discovered the theft. According to her, she had always trusted Ibrahim, treating him like family and compensating him generously for his services — making his betrayal even more painful.
The woman explained that upon returning home one day, she noticed her bedroom door was slightly ajar. Sensing something was wrong, she checked her drawers and found that the box containing her daughter’s school fees had vanished.
Through tears, she said:
“I still can’t believe Ibrahim would do this to me. He made a copy of my house key and waited for me to leave before sneaking in. The money was meant for my daughter’s school fees abroad.”
She has since shared CCTV footage of the incident online and appealed for public assistance in locating the driver.
The video has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many users expressing shock at the incident. Some who claimed to know Ibrahim described him as calm and reserved, saying they never suspected he was capable of such an act.
The case has also reignited discussions about trust, the risks associated with hiring domestic staff, and the need for thorough background checks before employing workers in private homes.
