A Nigerian woman was reportedly sent out of her husband’s house after using ₦80,000 meant for her children’s school fees for betting, losing the money and keeping silent until the children were sent home from school.

A Nigerian woman has sparked widespread reactions online after she was reportedly sent out of her husband’s home for using her children’s school fees to place bets.
The story was shared by a user identified as @Tope-Orus on the social media platform X.
According to the post, the woman’s husband had given her ₦80,000 to pay their children’s school fees. Instead of making the payment, she allegedly used the money for betting and lost everything. She reportedly kept quiet about the loss until the children were sent home from school due to unpaid fees.
The post explained that the woman became confused after losing the money and chose not to inform her husband, hoping to somehow resolve the situation on her own. However, the truth came out when the school sent the children home.
When the husband eventually discovered what happened, he did not assault her but firmly asked her to leave the house. Despite her attempts to explain that she had won in previous bets and that this loss was a mistake, he insisted she move out, warning that there would be serious consequences if he returned and found her still at home.
As of the time the story was shared, the children were reportedly at home and no longer attending school.
The incident has continued to generate debate online, with many users criticizing the misuse of school fees and others expressing concern for the children caught in the situation.
