After three attempts, Nigerian Daisi Omokungbe secured the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to pursue a master’s in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics at the University of Bradford, UK, crediting his sustainable development work and leadership roles for his selection.
A young Nigerian, Daisi Omokungbe, has finally secured the prestigious Chevening Scholarship after three attempts. He will now pursue a master’s degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics at the University of Bradford, UK.
Daisi took to LinkedIn to announce his success and expressed his gratitude for receiving the fully funded Chevening award from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

“I am pleased to announce that I have been awarded the fully funded Chevening Awards by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the UK,” he wrote.
The Chevening Scholarship covers all expenses for a master’s degree in the UK, including accommodation, visa, and travel costs for international students.
Daisi was selected from a pool of 11,000 applicants in Nigeria, alongside 31 other young Nigerians, as part of the 2024/2025 cohort. He shared that his journey to winning the scholarship was not easy; after two previous rejections, he finally succeeded on his third attempt.
He credited his work in Nigeria’s sustainable development, particularly his leadership roles at Technocrat Innovations Plus Ltd, DailyAgent, and the PROMAD Foundation, as key factors in his selection.
Daisi highlighted the importance of AI and Data Analytics in his work and future aspirations, noting that the knowledge gained from the course would help advance his professional and leadership goals as he continues to contribute to the development of Nigeria and Africa.
He emphasized that Chevening is more than just an academic opportunity. It provides a platform to build a global network of young leaders from over 160 countries, which will significantly contribute to his leadership growth and impact.
In conclusion, Daisi expressed his profound gratitude to the FCDO and Chevening for this life-changing opportunity.
