A total of 16,581 graduating students will be conferred with degrees and postgraduate degrees in Bayero University’s combined 36th and 37th Convocation Ceremony scheduled to take place from Tuesday, 7th February 2023 to Saturday, 11th February, 2023.


The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas who disclosed this on Thursday, 2nd February, 2023 at a Pre-Convocation Press Briefing held at the Council Chamber of the Abubakar Rasheed Senate Building.
He explained that during the combined Convocation, a total of 16,581 undergraduate students will be graduating out of which 285 students would be awarded with first class honours in various disciplines.
He further said 359 graduands would be conferred with PhDs while 5,936 will receive Master’s Degree and 2,484 will receive Postgraduate Diploma, respectively.
Abbas further said that all the graduates who would attend the convocation would receive their certificates same day.
He said that the institution’s Senate and Governing Council had decided not to award any Honorary Degree during the convocation.
He said that the institution had maintained, and even improved on its academic excellence in the last one year
He disclosed that all the programmes presented by the university for accreditation by the regular and professional bodies secured accreditation.
