University of Calabar, UNICAL notice on total evacuation from University main library.


The Library building of the University of Calabar has been formally shut down following the report of an explosive sound that rocked the Special Education Wing of the Library.
The Registrar of the University of Calabar, Mr Gabriel Egbe in a release said that the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Florence Obi has further directed all staff and Students to keep off the building owing to the impact of the explosion.
The release which stated that the decision is with immediate effect has accordingly directed the University Librarian and the Chief Security Officer to jointly ensure urgent and total evacuation of Staff, Students and University properties out of the building as well as enforce the sealing of the structure.
