Peter Obi Donates Bus and ₦15 Million to Grimard School of Nursing in Kogi

Peter Obi has donated a coaster bus and ₦15 million to Grimard School of Nursing in Kogi to support accreditation, infrastructure, and student development, fulfilling a promise from his previous visit.

Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last election, donated a coaster bus and ₦5 million to Grimard School of Nursing Science, Anyigba, Kogi State, on Tuesday. During the visit, Obi encouraged students to focus on their studies and prepare for leadership roles in Nigeria’s future.

This donation follows a previous ₦10 million contribution he made to the school, intended to support its accreditation and infrastructure development efforts. Obi explained that his latest visit was to honor a promise made during his earlier visit three months ago.

During the earlier visit, the Catholic Bishop of Idah, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Adaji, had highlighted the school’s need for a bus to facilitate its accreditation, suggesting that even a used bus would suffice. Obi fulfilled his promise by delivering a brand-new coaster bus along with an extra ₦5 million to assist with fuel and logistics.

Obi reiterated the importance of staying focused on their education, stressing that nursing and allied sciences are highly sought after worldwide. He also reassured the institution of his continued support, noting that Grimard is among over 22 nursing and midwifery schools that benefit from his annual educational aid.

Bishop Adaji expressed deep gratitude for Obi’s unwavering dedication to education and healthcare, stating, “Obi’s presence here is not political but a commitment to fostering education. He wants you to succeed and be future leaders, and he exemplifies integrity in politics.”

Mrs. Usman Obonugwa, the school’s Provost, also thanked Obi for his generosity and ongoing contributions to the development of the institution.
