The Muhammadu Buhari University of Transportation, a federal university in Daura, Katsina State, is ready to begin academic activities subject to approval by the National Universities Commission, NUC.
Management of Federal University of Transportation Daura (FUTD) wishes to inform the general public that the university is now on the JAMB Portal.
The 2023 JAMB Candidates who wish to join the University with the aim of building a career in the Transportation Industry can now visit the JAMB Portal for a Change of Institution and Programme of their choice into the Federal University of Transportation, Daura, now.
The programmes to be offered by the University are B.Eng. Civil Engineering, B.Eng. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering, B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering. B.Eng. Railway Engineering, B.Eng. Highway Engineering, B.Sc. Aviation Management, and B.Sc. Transport Management.
Others are B.Sc. Logistics and Supply Chain Management, B.Sc. Maritime Safety and Environmental Administration, BSc. Railway Transport Management, B.Sc. Sea Port and Dry Port Management, B.Sc. Inland Waterways Safety and Environmental Administration and B.Sc. Maritime Economics.
The admission requirements are Five O-Level credits including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.

University of Transportation, Daura ready for academic activities – VC
Its pioneer vice-chancellor, Prof. Umar Adam-Katsayal, made the declaration on Thursday when an NUC delegation of assessors on resource verification visited the institution.
Mr Adam-Katsayal said all needed requirements for the institute to begin academic activities had been provided.
“All the needed facilities and equipment required for the commencement of academic activities have been provided. All we need now is approval of the NUC.
“We are ready to kick-off the 2023/2024 academic session if the NUC gives its approval as we speak.
“We are excited that the NUC has come to inspect what we have on ground,’’ he said.
The vice-chancellor told the NUC delegation that the university proposed about 10 academic programmes for the take-off of the university.
After the inspection, leader of the NUC delegation, John Mairafi, a Director at the NUC’s Executive Secretary’s office said it was satisfied with what was on ground at the varsity.
“The facilities and infrastructure are generally okay, but the institution still needs to await approval from the NUC, depending on our report,’’ Mr Mairafi said.
The vice-chancellor and the NUC team later paid courtesy visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari and the Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk-Umar.
