“To Scream Die, Die?” Nigerians React as Pastor Olukoya Claims that MFM Produces Most First-Class Graduates

Dr. Daniel Olukoya’s claim that MFM produces the most first-class graduates in Nigeria has sparked a debate on social media, with mixed reactions ranging from skepticism to humor about the church’s focus on prayer.

The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, sparked a fresh debate by asserting that MFM produces the largest number of first-class graduates in Nigeria. This statement was made during the church’s 35th-anniversary celebration, where over 492 members who graduated with first-class honors from various universities received cash awards.

Olukoya mentioned that the initiative, which started in 2011, is part of the church’s 70-point agenda aimed at encouraging youth to strive for excellence. He emphasized that MFM now produces more first-class graduates than any other church in Nigeria.

Dignitaries such as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori attended the event.

However, Nigerians on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) had mixed reactions to Olukoya’s claim.

Some questioned the employability of these graduates, while others expressed skepticism about the evidence behind the statement. A few users humorously linked the achievement to MFM’s focus on intense prayer practices, with one user commenting, “And what have they used it for? To scream die, die, die?”
