The Rivers State Government has debunked reports in a section of the media advertising the sale of admission forms for the state’s School of Nursing, describing it as false, misleading, and fraudulent.
Also, the government said there was no school of nursing in the state, as the institution hitherto bearing that name had been upgraded to the College of Nursing Sciences.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Oreh, stated this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Dr Oreh said the Rivers State School of Nursing Admission Form 2024/2025 session adverts credited to the ministry of health were fake
According to her, the publication is the handiwork of mischief makers and a desperate attempt to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The statement reads, “In keeping the record straight, may it be clearly stated that, the School of Nursing as it is formally known has been upgraded to College of Nursing Sciences, hence necessitating that every interested candidate(s) should pass through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board starting from next year (2025).
“There is no ongoing sale of nursing and Midwifery forms for the 2024/2025 session going on in the Ministry.
“That such publication as appeared on social media platforms are false and did not emanate from the ministry of health.
“All enquiries about Rivers State College of Nursing Sciences admission should be made at the office of the Director Nursing Services, Ministry of Health; Block A, 4th Floor State Secretariat Complex.
“The general public is by this notice advised to consider the social media publication as unfounded, untrue, misleading, fraudulent, and mischievous and should be disregarded/ ignored completely henceforth.”
