Fourteen University of Ibadan students have received the prestigious MTN STEM Scholarship, recognizing academic excellence and providing financial support and skill development opportunities.


Fourteen students from the University of Ibadan have earned the highly sought-after MTN Science and Technology Scholarship. The awards were presented during a ceremony and alumni induction event in Lagos, with the University’s Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu O. Saliu, fspsp, in attendance.
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship, an initiative by the MTN Foundation, aims to support students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Open to students from public universities, colleges of education, and polytechnics across Nigeria, the scholarship is a competitive recognition of academic excellence.
Since its launch, the MTN Foundation has awarded scholarships worth over ₦38 billion to nearly 5,000 students nationwide. In addition to financial aid, recipients participate in the MTN Skill Up workshop, preparing them with the skills needed to succeed in Nigeria’s dynamic labor market.
This achievement further reinforces the University of Ibadan’s status as a leader in STEM education.
