Prof. Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi is now Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Advancement, Research and Innovation.

Details:

• Appointment: The Council at its 206th (Emergency) meeting on 16th December 2024 approved Prof. Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Advancement, Research and Innovation. This appointment was formalized at the 543rd Regular Senate meeting on the same day.
• Background: Prof. Rafindadi Sanusi was formerly the Dean of ABU Business School and a former Head of the Department of Economics. His new role is effective from 16th December 2024.
• Education and Career: Born on 19th November 1970, Prof. Rafindadi obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD from Ahmadu Bello University, with his PhD from Lancaster University, UK. He joined ABU in 2000 as a Graduate Assistant at the Department of Economics and has since risen through the ranks to become a Professor in 2019.
• Achievements:
  • Supervised numerous theses.
  • Published extensively, with 85 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Served on various economic policy and development bodies, including WAHM, UNECA, BOI, and others.
• Memberships: Prof. Rafindadi is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society, Fellow of the Capital Market Academics of Nigeria, and other prestigious economic and academic bodies.
