FUNAAB Shines Again, Ranked Among Top 10 Nigerian Universities in 2025 THE Impact Rankings

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has achieved another remarkable feat by ranking among the top 10 Nigerian universities in the newly released 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.

According to the rankings released today, June 18, 2025, FUNAAB was evaluated alongside 2,526 universities from 130 countries/regions, with 36 Nigerian universities making the final list.

The rankings, which assessed universities’ contributions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranked FUNAAB commendably in the overall position globally and 7th in Nigeria.

In the performance ranking of other classifications, FUNAAB jointly soared on SDG 4 (Quality Education) to 2nd in Nigeria.

On the SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) National ranking, the University placed 3rd in Nigeria; and came 4th in SDG 13 (Climate Action).

FUNAAB was also ranked 6th in the country on SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).

In response to the ranking, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde congratulated the University Community, emphasising that the milestone was a collective achievement. He urged stakeholders to intensify efforts to exceed this year’s performance in future editions.

The latest recognition has reaffirmed FUNAAB’s growing reputation as a leader in sustainable education and innovation in Nigeria and beyond.
