In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, charged the students to shun all forms of cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing, violence, and fraud, emphasizing that the University has zero tolerance for misconduct and warned that any student found guilty would face disciplinary action, including possible expulsion.

Prof. Umar advised the students to stay focused and avoid distractions that could derail them from achieving their goals. He urged them to abide by the rules and regulations guiding their stay in the institution, saying that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about building character and developing a sense of service to society.

The Vice Chancellor stressed that education goes beyond the classroom, and that the University is committed to molding students into responsible, knowledgeable, and ethical members of society. He encouraged the students to take advantage of the University’s resources and opportunities to develop their skills and character.

The matriculation ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to the best continuing students in different departments. This recognition serves as a motivation for students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.
