The University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID and Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Launched New Degree Programmes


The University of Maiduguri has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi to introduce five new degree programmes: Accounting, Mass Communication, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, and Public Administration.
The agreement was formalized on Friday, the 18th of July, 2025. Signing on behalf of the university was the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, and the University Registrar. Representing the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi were the Rector, Dr. Dalhatu Saidu Abubakar, and the Registrar, Alhaji Kasimu Salihu Abubakar.
In his remarks, Dr. Dalhatu expressed appreciation for the university’s continued support, noting that the collaboration will provide Bauchi students with the opportunity to pursue university degrees closer to home. He also thanked the university for its warm hospitality.
Professor Mele reaffirmed the university’s dedication to expanding access to higher education.This he said isn’t just about awarding certificates but about empowering students to take the next step in their lives. He then said, “If they can bring the university closer to them, then they’re truly making a difference.”
