Landlord Accused in AAUA Students’ Kidnapping and Murder Dies in Custody

Oladele Femi, the landlord accused of orchestrating the abduction and murder of two AAUA students, has died in custody after falling ill, as police continue their investigation involving additional suspects and the recovery of stolen property.

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Oladele Femi, a landlord widely known as “Tallex,” who was accused of masterminding the kidnapping and murder of two students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

According to police spokesperson DSP Olushola Ayanlade, Femi died while receiving treatment at a hospital after experiencing a mysterious illness during his time in custody.

“Yes, he is dead. He had been under medical supervision since his arrest and had been in and out of the hospital. He passed away yesterday,” Ayanlade told reporters.

Femi was central to the investigation into the tragic disappearance and killing of AAUA students John Abba and Eloho Okah, who went missing on June 20, 2025. Femi, identified as Abba’s landlord, reportedly confessed to orchestrating their abduction and eventual murder.

Police have since recovered the decomposing body of Eloho Okah in a forest, while the search continues for John Abba’s remains.

In a development linked to the case, authorities also arrested two additional suspects, Kola and Michael, accused of withdrawing ₦800,000 from Abba’s bank account during his captivity. The funds were traced to transfers made while the victims were missing.

Additionally, police recovered a Lexus RX 350 SUV belonging to the late Abba from one of the suspects.
