Ayomide Alimi, a Nigerian student, achieved an incredible feat, graduating with a 4.87 CGPA in Chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). He was initially disappointed when he got into Chemistry instead of Medicine, but turned it around, excelled, and received multiple awards at OAU’s 48th Convocation.

Ayomide’s journey wasn’t without challenges. He faced intense academic pressure in his penultimate year, but with support from family, mentors, and friends, he persevered. He developed a strong interest in Organic Chemistry, seeing its impact on drug development and medicine.

He received five major academic prizes, including Best Graduating Student in Chemistry and Overall Best in the Faculty of Science. Ayomide thanked God, his mother, and loved ones for their unwavering support, saying, “To God be the glory. Great is Your faithfulness. Here’s to new beginnings and greater heights ahead.”
