VeryDarkMan called for a nationwide school boycott to pressure authorities into rescuing teachers and pupils abducted in Oyo State and to draw attention to worsening insecurity in schools.

Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has called on teachers and parents across the country to stage a nationwide school boycott in solidarity with teachers and pupils who were abducted in Oyo State. He urged public school teachers to stay away from work and encouraged parents to keep their children at home until the victims regain their freedom.
In a viral video, the activist expressed frustration over what he described as Nigerians’ tendency to quickly move on from serious national issues. He argued that sustained public pressure is needed to ensure authorities remain focused on rescuing the kidnapped victims and improving security.
The call comes amid growing concern over the abduction of dozens of teachers and students in the Oriire area of Oyo State. Student groups, teachers’ associations, and civil society organizations have also organized protests and advocacy campaigns demanding the immediate rescue of those still being held captive.
VeryDarkMan previously issued a four-day ultimatum to the Nigerian government, urging authorities to secure the release of the victims. He stated that if no progress was made, he would explore alternative efforts to assist in obtaining their freedom, despite potential consequences.
The situation has continued to attract national attention, with many Nigerians expressing concern over insecurity in schools and the safety of children and educators across the country.
