Northwest University Kano expelled 34 students, suspended 18 others, issued written warnings to 22 students, and cleared one student after investigating cases of examination malpractice during the 2024/2025 academic session.


Northwest University Kano has dismissed 34 students after they were found guilty of engaging in examination malpractice during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.
The disciplinary action was announced in a statement issued by the university’s Head of Public Relations, Abubakar Ibrahim, following the institution’s consideration of the report submitted by the Examination Misconduct Investigation Committee.
According to the university, the committee investigated cases of alleged examination misconduct and recommended sanctions based on its findings. After reviewing the report, the university approved the expulsion of 34 students.
In addition to the expulsions, 18 students were suspended from their academic programmes, while another 22 students received official written warnings for various examination-related offences.
The university also disclosed that one student, Rukayya Ahmad Zukuri, was cleared of all allegations after the committee found insufficient evidence to establish any wrongdoing.
The management urged all students to strictly observe the institution’s examination regulations and maintain honesty, discipline, and academic integrity throughout their studies to avoid similar disciplinary measures in the future.
