Adekunle Ajasin University, AAUA Notice on Mandatory use of Official University Identity Cards by all Staff and Students

The University Management has observed that some members of staff and students move around the campus without displaying their official University Identity (ID) Cards. This practice poses security challenges and makes it difficult to readily identify bona fide members of the University community.

Consequently, Management has directed that with effect from Tuesday, 14th July, 2026, the wearing and conspicuous display of official Adekunle Ajasin University Identity Cards shall be mandatory for all staff and students while on campus and at all official University functions.

Accordingly:

• Every member of staff and every student shall wear and display his/her official University ID Card at all times while on campus.
• Security personnel and other authorised officers have been directed to request proof of identification from any person found within the University premises without a valid University ID Card.
• All newly employed members of staff who are yet to obtain their University ID Cards are required to apply through the appropriate channels without delay.
• Staff and students who have misplaced or damaged their ID Cards should immediately apply for replacement through the appropriate channels.

Deans, Heads of Department/Unit, Directors, Ag. Chief Security Officer, Hall Managers, Porters and all officers are requested to ensure strict compliance with this directive.

Failure to comply with this directive shall attract appropriate sanctions, including denial of access to designated University facilities where necessary.

Members of the University Community are enjoined to cooperate fully, as this measure is aimed at strengthening campus security, promoting orderliness, and protecting lives and University property.
