The management of Lagos State University, LASU has appointed new dean for the Faculty of Arts.
Professor Kabiru Olawale PARAMOLE of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Lagos State University.
The election was held on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, at the New TETFund Postgraduate Hall 1, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
Professor Paramole secured fifty-one (51) votes in a keenly contested election to defeat Professor Isaac Adeniyi YEKINI-AJENIFUJA of the Department of Music, who polled forty-seven (47) votes. Three (3) votes were declared void, bringing the total number of votes cast to one hundred and one (101).
Announcing the result, the Deputy Registrar/Faculty Officer and Returning Officer, Mr Samuel GBEDOZIN, declared Professor Paramole duly elected as the Dean-designate of the Faculty of Arts.
The outgoing Dean, Professor Ayo AYODELE, will complete his tenure on Friday, 31st July 2026.
Professor Paramole is scheduled to assume office on Saturday, 1st August 2026.
At the conclusion of the election, Professor Ayodele congratulated the Dean-designate and expressed optimism that his tenure would further advance the academic excellence and development of the Faculty of Arts.
