Thousands of candidates seeking for admissions into higher institutions yesterday said the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) prepared by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) was delayed. The Computer Based Test (CBT) scheduled to hold in multiple batches daily was expectations to end on April 4.
Some candidates interviewed said the exam began late but majority agreed the exercise was smooth. At a private CBT centre in Dutse, Abuja, a candidate, Samuel Chike said the exam went well but was delayed by two hours.
Angela Eze at the same centre said although the exercise was delayed, the questions were not difficult.

Adamu Seidu said he was allowed into the exam hall at 11am instead of 9am. JAMB spokesman Dr Fabian Benjamin said the exam begun at the normal starting time, adding that candidates were expected to be at the centre for the second session at 9am but the exam started at 10am after verification. He said candidates whose fingerprints were not authenticated were not allowed to take the exam, but the board would verify their complaints and take a decision.
