In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??
It means, additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.
Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR MATHEMATICS AND ECONOMICS
- Mathematics, Economics and any other Science or Social Science subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- NO SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR MATHEMATICS AND ECONOMICS
- Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects selected from Science or Social Sciences at not more than two (2)sittings.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) BENIN accepts Mathematics, Economics and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Geography and Government.
- (ii) MAUTY requires Economics/ Commerce and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Government, Financial Accounting, Computer Studies & IT.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR MATHEMATICS AND ECONOMICS
- (i) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects should include Mathematics and Economics.
- (ii) ND upper credit in Mathematics/Statistics , Computer Science, Accounting or Business Studies from a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology.
- (iii) HND lower credit in Mathematics/Statistics , Computer Science, Accounting or Business Studies from a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology.
- (iv) NCE credit in Mathematics and Economics from a recognised College of Education. In addition candidates should have merit.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
- (i) BENIN -Candidates for Direct Entry should also satisfy the UTME requirements.
- (ii) MAUTY requires a. two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and any of Economics, Statistics, Geography and Business Management. b. HND/ND credit in any of Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Mathematics Education c. NCE credit in Mathematics and Economics d. IJMB with a minimum of eight (8) points which must include credit in both Mathematics and Economics.
