FULOKOJA gets NUC accreditation for all existing programmes in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences.

FULOKOJA gets accreditation for all existing programmes in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences

The National Universities Commission (NUC), which has the statutory mandate to accredit academic programmes in all Nigerian Universities, has released the all-awaited results of its Re-Accreditation Exercise conducted in Federal University Lokoja (FUL) in October/November 2021.

In a letter communicated to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi signed by its Director of Accreditation, Dr. Maryam Sali on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, the NUC presented details of the technical reports and summary results of the existing academic programmes in the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences visited.

The following are the five (5) academic programmes that retained their FULL ACCREDITATION STATUS valid for a period of five (5) years as released by the National Universities Commission:

FACULTY OF ARTS

  • English
  • History

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

  • Economics
  • Geography
  • Political Science

It will be recalled that towards the end of last year (2021), the Vice-Chancellor and his Management Team received different Accreditation Panels from the NUC who visited the University for the Re-accreditation of the above mentioned programmes which were already due for the exercise.

Interestingly, these programmes have consistently maintained their full accreditation status since the first accreditation exercise that was conducted in 2015, thanks to the committed and hardworking academic staff in those departments.

Meanwhile, the existing academic programmes in the Faculty of Science will also be visited soon for the purpose of their Re-accreditation.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi on behalf of FUL Management expressed his deep gratitude to the National Universities Commission, Members of the Accreditation Team, Staff and Students of this great University for their various roles, support and tireless efforts that led to this another remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to us all!
